Washington County Community College is seeking a dedicated and highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic to join our Maintenance Department in a part-time role, available for immediate hire. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing custodial cleaning and minor maintenance repairs across assigned campus buildings, grounds, and parking areas. This role is essential in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position requires availability to work evenings and weekends.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma.
  • Experience: Up to one year of experience in building maintenance and custodial work.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with materials, methods, and equipment used in custodial cleaning and grounds maintenance.
  • Ability to operate both manual and automatic custodial equipment.
  • Understanding and adherence to safety rules and procedures.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
  • Basic skills to perform minor repairs and adjustments on cleaning and grounds equipment.
  • Physical strength and stamina to handle various manual tasks related to the care, cleaning, and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Salary Range: Part-time, MSEA unit position, Range 10, \$17.01 to \$18.17, depending on experience. Prorated Benefits: employer paid health, dental and life insurance for employees (spouse/domestic partner/dependent coverage also available), vision insurance, Maine State Retirement, vacation/sick time allowances, professional development, and free tuition within the MCCS.
