JOB SUMMARY:
As an Ohio CAT Field Technician, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair natural gas engines used primarily in the gas compression industry, from a company service truck, in the field, oftentimes at customer job sites. The emphasis of this position will be Caterpillar G3300, G3400, G3500, G3600, and GCM engines. REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
College and/or continued education in a technical field are a plus.
Experience related to commercial engine service and repair is required
Experience with electronic engine control and management systems preferred
Valid Commercial Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record in accordance with Ohio CAT standards
Knowledge of Caterpillar or other OEM natural gas engines
Strong technical service skills, mechanical aptitude, and experience with construction or power equipment required, and strong DC electrical and machine electronic system knowledge is crucial
Must have the ability to follow technical material and apply processes and procedures as necessary to complete repairs and manufacturers’ updates, as required
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Lifting/Carrying 40 lb. Lift/Carry and 50lb pulling
Standing/Sitting Up and down stairs, standing, sitting, and climbing into machines
Dexterity Normal
Repetitive Motions Frequent movement requiring hands, wrists, and fingers.
The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet in office settings and moderate to loud in other situations, with both constant and sudden loud noises possible.
