Montana Technological University Executive Director for Emerging Graduate Initiatives in Butte, Montana

The Executive Director for Emerging Graduate Initiatives (EDEGI) will coordinate the delivery of 70 credit hours of engineering educational content in extractive engineering, as it relates to critical mineral exploration, processing, recovery, and management. The EDEGI will work with subject matter experts to adapt educational content related to geological engineering, geology, mineral processing, metallurgical engineering, materials science, and environmental management related to mineral extraction. The EDEGI will ensure the curriculum meets departmental standards for technical content, and national best practices for on-line asynchronous delivery with regular substantive interactions. The EDEGI will coordinate four parallel project teams (one per discipline), which constitutes a 10+ member effort to develop this online program. The EDEGI will act as a liaison between four engineering department heads, multiple faculty in four departments, instructional designers, graduate teaching assistants, and the Director for Center for Academic Innovation, to ensure quality and consistency in final delivery of the product. The position will work collaboratively with the Dean of the Graduate School to build partnerships that populate the enrollment pipeline for this program. The EDEGI will work with the Director of Graduate Enrollment to market and recruit for the program. The position will be the primary point of content for an external advisory board and external sponsor to maintain expectations for technical content and accessibility of the new curriculum. The EDEGI will ensure the project stays on budget, submit necessary progress reports to the sponsor, and ensure the project deliverables are met on an aggressive timeline. The position will work with the research office to ensure the project meets sponsor requirements and with the Director for the Center for Academic Innovation to ensure the project meets federal requirements for online curriculum, in a rapidly changing and fast paced environment.
