DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Career Advisor Trainee, you will develop, improve, and apply knowledge of workforce development programs, services, policies, regulations, legislation, and procedures. You will learn to offer intake services to jobseekers and employers, both individually and in groups. Additionally, you will assist in organizing and delivering workshops, presentations, and orientations.

You will gain experience in planning and conducting career counseling sessions, coaching on resume writing, interviewing skills, job search strategies, networking, and other relevant topics. You will also learn to coordinate services using a case management approach, helping jobseekers set employment goals, create Individual Employment Plans (IEPs), and track progress towards these goals.

Furthermore, you will develop skills to assist employers by establishing contacts, analyzing workforce needs, matching jobseekers with suitable occupations, coordinating recruitment efforts, and proposing hiring strategies. You will also be responsible for verifying and approving new employer information, assisting businesses in posting vacancies on PA CareerLink Online, and ensuring compliance with all requirements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Butler. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Upon successful completion of the training program, trainees will be promoted to the Career Advisor job.    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Four years of public contact work that involved interviewing the public to obtain, provide, and evaluate information concerning employment or employability; or A bachelor's degree.
