We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II to join our New Product Introduction (NPI) team. This role focuses on supporting design for manufacturing efforts, encompassing process development, work instruction creation, lean manufacturing, and tooling development.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the introduction of new products from prototype design to full-scale production for small-scope programs.

  • Design assembly tooling and fixtures using CAD software.

  • Develop and implement efficient manufacturing processes.

  • Create and maintain comprehensive work instructions and process documentation.

  • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

  • Conduct process flow and capacity analyses to ensure optimal production rates.

  • Collaborate with design engineering to refine product designs for manufacturability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing issues related to design, process, and supplier quality.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • 2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering or related field.

  • Experience with using CAD software (e.g., CREO).

  • Experience with RCCA, design of experiments, or troubleshooting manufacturing or design issues.

  • Experience with manufacturing execution systems (MES) and data analysis tools.

  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field or in absence of a degree, 6 years of relevant experience.

  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in the aerospace or defense industry.

  • Experience with electronics.

  • Knowledge of advanced manufacturing techniques and materials.

  • Strong grasp of lean manufacturing principles and practices.

  • Experience with the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and AS9145 methodologies.

  • Six Sigma certification or equivalent.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Onsite : Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Regardless of your role type, collaboration and innovation are critical to our business and all employees will have access to digital tools so they can work with colleagues around the world – and access to Collins sites when their work requires in-person meetings.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
