Posting Summary

The CARE Team Outreach Coordinator will report to the Dean of Students and is responsible for the provision of critical support for students experiencing emotional or material challenges that negatively impact their mental health, wellbeing and ability to achieve academic success. The CARE Team Outreach Coordinator will provide appropriate mental health assessment, crisis management and response, triage to appropriate resources, effective referrals, follow-up, tracking, and continuity of care between campus departments and community resources. This position will primarily support students referred to the UVM CARE Team. Additionally, this position will respond to and triage acute situations in collaboration and consultation with UVM Police Services and Residential Life Staff.

Minimum Qualifications (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Higher Education or equivalent. Clinical assessment skills, emergency/crisis response. Crisis/suicide intervention experience and critical incident debriefing capabilities required. Ability to demonstrate a commitment to fostering a collaborative equity and social justice focused environment.

Desirable Qualifications

Ability to provide effective consultation regarding a variety of mental health issues. Experience working with college age issues in a residential setting, preferably within a university setting, or equivalent.

Anticipated Pay Range $55,000-65,000 - position is an 11-month term so actual salary range may be $50,400 to $59,600

Other Information

This is a live-on position which includes on-call weekend and evening hours.
