Description

We are searching for a Sr. Accountant to join our team in Waltham, Massachusetts. This role involves overseeing financial activities related to service projects, collaborating with project managers, and developing cost accounting systems. This is a long term contract employment opportunity that does involve transitioning to permanent employment.

Responsibilities:

• Spearhead month-end and year-end closing activities related to Services, Long term and Services Projects, including reconciliations and accruals.

• Work closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to establish project budgets and monitor financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

• Develop and maintain project cost accounting systems, processes, and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls.

• Prepare and present project cost reports, financial analyses, and budget updates to project stakeholders.

• Provide guidance and support to project teams on financial matters, ensuring adherence to financial goals.

• Lead and coordinate on Services absorption globally, reconcile absorption hours.

• Collaborate with the Revenue accounting team.

• Coordinate with the Cost Accounting team on areas that impact Long Project accounting and other assigned areas of responsibility.

• Collaborate with internal and external auditors to ensure accuracy and integrity of project cost.

Requirements

• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred

• Proven experience in a similar role, preferably as a Sr. Accountant

• Advanced knowledge of accounting software such as NetSuite, SAP, and Oracle Cloud

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications

• In-depth understanding of Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation

• Expertise in General Ledger and Journal Entries

• Familiarity with Month End Close processes

• Knowledge of Revenue Recognition, Project Accounting, and Project Budgets is necessary

• Excellent communication, organizational, and analytical skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong problem-solving capabilities and ability to work independently.
