Audiologist Full Time 40 hours

Job Description:

The Department of Audiology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center is seeking a full-time clinical Audiologist.

This is a full time position, 40 hours a week, reporting to the Clinical Director of Audiology located at the Burlington, MA campus.

The Audiologist will be responsible for independently providing comprehensive audiologic services to an adult population. Applicants should have a strong interest in practice areas of cochlear implantation and amplification.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform full diagnostic hearing evaluation for adults by utilizing the following: thorough case history intake; pure tone air and bone conduction, speech sensitivity and speech discrimination; tympanometry, acoustic reflex threshold, Dix-Hallpike and otoacoustic emissions as applicable.

Interpret results of diagnostic evaluation and make appropriate recommendations for follow-up care to include: further audiological assessment, medical intervention and/or rehabilitative management.

Clearly communicate diagnostic findings to patients, family members, physicians and associated professionals.

Perform cochlear implant evaluation, activation and long-term post-operative cochlear implant care for FDA approved cochlear implant devices.

Support cochlear implant recipient needs including assistive device and rehabilitation recommendations.

Ability to obtain and interpret objective measures of cochlear implant function including intraoperative measurements.

Perform amplification assessment, consultation and fitting of hearing aid devices for adult population.

Verification of device function via real ear measurements.
