       BURLINGTONCOMMUNITY SCHOOL DISTRICTPOSITION DESCRIPTION AND SPECIFICATIONS Job Title: Medicaid Coordinator FLSA Status: Non-exempt Reports to: Director of Business Services Hours: 8 Days: 261

QUALIFICATIONS Requires the following (or equivalent qualifications):

  • Knowledge of and experience with special education services and Individualized Education Plans (IEP’s), including Functional Behavior Analyses, Behavior Intervention Plans, and individual Health Plans

  • Experience with computers, including Microsoft Office products

  • Ability to deliver staff training and communications on correctly completing IEPs and Medicaid Forms

  • Excellent organization skills

  • Ability to address non-compliance issues with staff members

  • Ability to review applicable guidance and regulations and update the applicable leaders as needed

  • Ability to interact with venders, health professionals and other agencies as necessary

    POSITION PURPOSE To complete paperwork for Medical billing of special needs students. To support and work with Special Education teachers and nurses to revise IEP’s as required. PERFORMANCE ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Maintain strict confidentiality

  • Organize and maintain computerized and manual records regarding special needs students

  • Read Individualized Education Plans to determine behaviors and/or health services provided

  • Communicate with staff members to provide billable services in the Individualized Education Plans

  • Collect billable documents and ensure the forms are Medicaid-acceptable and are processed in a timely manner.

  • Maintain up-to-date information on IEP dates, medical diagnoses and parental consent forms

  • Interact with and provide information to third-party billing service

  • Process Medicaid reimbursement payments for the business office

  • Interact with medical providers for diagnosis codes

  • Prepare forms for quality assurance audits and other audits as required

  • Develop and present training and other notifications to staff members

  • Develop procedures and forms as necessary to the medical claiming process

  • Meet requirements as set by governing agencies related to the claiming process

  • Provide feedback to supervisor and Special Services Director routinely on support needs and changes in regulations

    PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL EFFORT Continuous sitting, speaking, hearing and visual effort. Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, fine manipulation and repetitive hand motions. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs. Close mental and visual attention. Work involves some irregularities and difficulties, repetitive and varied tasks. Continuous general concentration. WORKING CONDITIONS Work is primarily performed in an office setting. Occasionally exposed to dust, noise, odors, and other irritants. Stress associated with work pace and pressure.
