- Provide leadership and management to the Information Technology and Communication (ITC) department.
- Assist in developing instructional strategies using instructional technology across all content areas.
- Maintain confidentiality on issues concerning the students and staff.
- Supervise and evaluate technology support staff in providing service to schools and central office.
- Represent the District at local, regional, and state meetings.
- Maintain knowledge with respect to relevant state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
- Responsible for district data management.
- Responsible for reporting Idaho System for Educational Excellence (ISEE) to the State Dept. of Education
- Coordinate new system development and improvements to existing systems.
- Coordinate ongoing development and implementation of the Districts Instructional Technology Plan.
- Provide consultation to the schools on the evaluation and selection of technology equipment, software, and related material, and serve as the district copyright officer.
- Coordinate instructional technology related in-service, input on the development of trainers within existing district staff, input on the design and delivery of advanced workshops, and assist in locating training resources outside the school system as needed.
- Prepare instructional technology related grant applications at the district level and assist school staff in their requests for proposals.
- Investigate emerging technologies and assess their potential for cost-effective use by students.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Work independently with little direction and meets schedules and timelines.
- Work in a friendly manner and to develop effective working relationships with administration, staff, vendors, and patrons.
- Process and submit reports and grants meeting all necessary state requirements.
- Have knowledge of telecommunication computer software/hardware configuration.
- Have knowledge of digital telecommunications systems.
- Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action.
- Other duties as assigned.
