M&T Bank Senior Workforce IAM Application Onboarding Engineer in Buffalo, New York

The Bank sponsors individuals for TN and H-1B transfers on a case by case basis. Please note that this position is not open to anyone on an F-1 student visa including those eligible for CPT/OPT or the Stem OPT extension.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration at our Buffalo, NY Tech Hub.

Overview:

Seeking a skilled technical engineer to join our WIAM Governance team. The primary responsibility of this role is to onboard applications to our identity governance tool, ensuring all access controls and identity management processes are appropriately controlled. This position requires an understanding of IAM, the ability to work with various stakeholders, and coordinate multiple workstreams at once. This role functions with a moderate level of autonomy, leveraging team peer connections and support from WIAM senior leadership

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Liaise between application teams and the WIAM Engineering team to develop connectors and integration between disconnected applications and the Centralized Identity Governance Tool. Work with application owners and teams to gather requirements and understand application workflows, underlying infrastructure, and current access controls.

  • Develop and maintain documentation related to onboarding processes, including configuration guides, workflows, process flows, and best practices. Provide technical support and troubleshooting for issues related to onboarding applications.

  • Own the resolution of routine to highly complex issues.

  • Maintain a strong aptitude and working knowledge of Bank applications, systems, development environments. Maintain a detailed understanding of vendor technologies and services used by the Bank.

  • Understand and adhere to the Company’s risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls in accordance with the Company’s Risk Appetite. Identify risk-related issues needing escalation to management.

  • Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.

  • Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.

  • Complete other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Required:

Combined minimum of 8 years’ higher education and/or work experience in systems design, management and/or architecture

Strong understanding of the system development and infrastructure lifecycle and architecture, vendor best practices, IT Service Management, and systems design

Education and Experience Preferred:

Bachelor’s degree in technology-related field

Background in Identity and Access Management, Cybersecurity or Technology

Experience with industry Identity Governance Tools, preferably SailPoint.

Excellent documentation skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality in work deliverables.

Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $110,635.01 - $184,391.68 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
