Responsibilities:
Works with the Senior Medical Director, Medical Director, Vice President of Clinical Operations and Chief Executive Officer to use data and experience to design a psychiatry program focused on ensuring quality mental health care is available to Neighborhood Health Center’s patients and toward meeting the goals of the organization
Provides short and long term psychotherapy and the concurrent use of medications for patients throughout the age spectrum including medication monitoring and adjustment and timely refills
Provides counseling for individuals and families
Supervises a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists in the treatment of patients
Establishes a database on patients by obtaining an appropriate health, developmental and psychosocial history, as well as through screening and diagnostic procedures and tests
Provides treatment according to APA Practice Guidelines as well as agency standards and protocols
Consults with other NHC providers in the management of patients with complex mental health issues
Participates in professional timely on-call coverage as appropriate to the department, documenting appropriately
Assists in developing protocols for consistent care
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of a four (4) year recognized medical school; must have completed residency in appropriate field (ie: internal medicine, OB/GYN, pediatrics. psychiatry)
Must possess a current NYS physician license and be a Board eligible/certified in field of specialty
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language; a second language of Spanish preferred.
Compensation: $250,000-$300,000 per year (based on a full time, 40 hour work week)
Individual compensation is based on various factors unique to each candidate, including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other position related components.
