Description

Job Summary

Performs repetitive bench or line assembly operations to mass-produce disposable plastic medical products such as tubing sets, injection molded plastic parts, and radio frequency welded parts by performing the following duties.

Job Duties

  • Places or assembles parts in specified relationship to each other using machine operations or hand assemblies.

  • Can be assigned to machine operations which would include loading, unloading parts from the machine, including pushing and pulling levers or buttons, trimming excess material, and traying and packaging the assemblies.

  • Also performs assembly operations to fasten parts together and/or assemble to meet job specifications. May use hand tools and other equipment designed for this purpose.

  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.

  • Works on line where tasks vary as different model of same article moves along line.

  • Responsible for meeting quality requirements and established standard rates per hour, including visual inspection of product to ensure compliance to quality standards, reporting any variances to designated personnel (Leads, Supervision).

  • Also responsible for following work rules and quality systems, and maintaining a good work relationship with all employees and customers.

  • Responsible for general housekeeping of work area (5S) [ Sort, Set In Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain plus Safety]

  • Perform other related duties as assigned/required.

Impact

  • Daily production of manufacturing disposable plastic medical products.

  • Communicates with Lead, Supervision to report any variances with product while complying to quality standards.

Schedule: 1st shift (6:30AM - 2:30PM Monday- Friday)

Starting Pay: $15/hr

Independent Judgment

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.

  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Communication

  • Ability to read and comprehend the English language both in written and verbal form such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers in the English language.

  • Ability to print and speak simple sentences in the English language.

The employee is occasionally required to:

  • Walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch;

  • Reach with hands and arms;

  • Move head & neck from side to side and up and down

  • Communicate with others including, team lead, trainer, and peers

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with or without visual assistance

Several work cells include lifting and/or moving up to 35 pounds, anything over this weight is required to lift with assistance.

  • Regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles; however internal air handling controls reduce any exposure to very minimal levels

  • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts if performing machine operations

  • Occasionally exposed to the risk of electrical shock and risk of radiation

  • The noise level in the work environment can vary from quiet to loud. The employee is required to use proper hearing protection in designated areas

Education

  • High School Diploma, General Education Degree (GED) or non-US secondary education preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • One to three months related experience and/or training necessary, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
