Job Description

The Medical Equipment Processing Technician is responsible for maintaining high standards for decontamination, visual inspection, and operational verification of small medical equipment to include IV Pumps, PCA Pumps, SCD Pumps, Epidural Pumps, and Wound Vac. Additionally they will assure proper PAR levels of these devices on the Patient Care floors (as allowed by census, and device availability). They will assure all equipment that is tagged as having an issue, is overdue for a PM inspection, or fails a visual or operational verification is not returned to service but is sent to an appropriate Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) for repair and or PM Inspection.

Education And Credentials

High School Diploma or GED required. Associate of Applied Science preferred.

Experience

1 year of experience in Hospital or Nursing Home environment working with Universal Precautions preferred. 2 years of experience in medical device integration, Cerner Millenium Pathnet and iCommand/iBus preferred. Candidates with a general understanding of laboratory operations, laboratory middleware solutions, healthcare systems processes and structure, and networking and cybersecurity preferred.
