Postion Summary

The Retail Activation Manager is responsible for the presentation of the New Era brand in wholesale and in-venue retail environments. This role will oversee retail marketing and visual merchandising projects, inclusive of print and digital campaign execution, retail store buildouts, POP and fixture production, and on-site events and activations. This position serves as the key day-to-day marketing liaison to team and concessionaire accounts and will also be responsible for day-to-day management for all existing retail footprints in third-party locations throughout North America.to drive sales of New Era product across all leagues and categories.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with key cross-functional groups to develop and execute strategic retail marketing plans for all stadium/arena, concessionaire, and team accounts across each league (MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL)
  • Works with internal Marketing and Creative teams to bring brand campaigns to life at retail, inclusive of campaign development for print and digital usage, asset creation process, print production, and on-site implementation
  • Responsible for day-to-day account communication and support for existing 250+ retail footprints (stores, cap walls, kiosks) at third-party locations across North America
  • Execution of retail store buildouts, cap walls, fixtures, display components, and other 3D/visual merchandising-related projects within key wholesale and in-venue/stadium accounts
  • Manages the entire creative production process for retail design projects, including site survey, design development, engineering and technical development, production, logistics, delivery, and installation
  • Functions as the liaison between New Era and production/fabrication vendor partners to ensure needs are met on both ends as far as budget, timing, brand standards, and best practices
  • Acts as the creative force and design expert for all 3D projects; partners with CAD designer to complete multiple stages of renderings and technical drawings to be used for internal and external approvals
  • Tracking and management of both project-specific and annual budgets
  • Partners with key cross-functional business partners (Marketing, Sales, Creative Services, Corporate Partnerships/Sponsorships, Product Development, etc.) to ensure the brand's product and creative vision is carried through to each environment
  • Analyzes the impact the above projects have on the sell-through of New Era product; analyzes ROI and other KPIs
  • Assist with other departmental projects, as needed
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Excellent project management, organization, verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong visual merchandising skills and experience with fixturing and brand presentation that translates to various environments
  • Advanced knowledge of print production and fabrication methods and materials typically used in creative retail production
  • Experience acting as point-person at installations, ability to create strong partnerships with vendor contacts, troubleshoot on-site, anticipate problems, make timely decisions, identify areas of opportunity, and provide logical and efficient solutions
  • Energetic and outgoing person who embraces work with a sense of urgency and persistence with a solution-based mentality
  • Ability to handle changing priorities and work collaboratively across organizational structures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Experience with space planning and planogram writing, knowledge of CAD design process a plus
  • Strong attention to detail - standards, product placement, lighting, fixtures, windows, etc.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Visual Merchandising, or related field. Experience in lieu of degree considered.
  • 5 - 7 years of visual merchandising or creative production experience, field or corporate retail experience a plus
  • Related experience in retail marketing or account management preferred

Travel

  • Up to 30% nationally

The salary range for this posted position is $70,000 - $90,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
