Location:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Preparing state and federal income tax returns
• Ability to understand and apply complex state and federal tax rules using online tools and regulatory guidance
• Providing detail for various regulatory filings and submissions
• Assisting in computing state apportionment
• Analyzing information required to support state and federal income tax audits and documenting tax positions in support of potential audits
• Working with external auditors to provide answers and support to inquiries
• Assisting with supporting lines of business on tax issues and opportunities and gaining a full understanding of their tax needs
• Collaborating as a team member on identified special projects
• Ability to work independently on a regular basis
• Assisting with analyzing/modeling impacts of legislative changes, audit issues and planning opportunities
• Preparing quarterly tax estimates and year-end projections
• Maintaining, reconciling and analyzing tax balances on general ledger
• Basic understanding and application of tax accounting principles used as part of the monthly accounting close process and in recording and maintaining deferred tax balances
• Maintaining tax calendar, including monitoring of due dates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Basic understanding of tax laws and related guidance
• Proficient understanding of GAAP tax accounting concepts
• Strong analytical skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel), experience with Corptax a plus
• Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent work experience
• Corporate tax experience or banking experience a plus

One or more of the following degrees/certifications is a plus:

• CPA
• Masters in Taxation degree

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $65,000 to $75,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
