Actalent Lab Technician in Buffalo, New York

Lab Technician

The individual in this role will navigate the plant environment to properly obtain liquid samples from silos using FDA and plant standards, while maintaining awareness around machines and forklifts. Test samples using lab equipment and instruments, including tests such as PH, acidity, freezing point, viscosity, and solid/fat percentages, ensuring samples are kept within specified ranges. Carefully document everything with dates and signatures, keep the lab clean to prevent contamination, and ensure supplies are refilled (chemicals, pipets, etc.). Follow FDA and plant standards in the lab and plant at all times, calibrate equipment daily, receive phone calls from various parts of the plant, and continuously multitask to ensure products and samples proceed within specification.

Hard Skills

  • A.S. or B.S. within a form of technical sciences (other degrees allowed with relevant work experience)
