Summary THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a HR SPEC (MILITARY), Position Description Number D2054000 and is part of the J3 DO, National Guard. This vacancy does not meet the criteria for appointment of annuitants. Responsibilities As a HR SPEC (MILITARY), GS-0201-9, you will serve as the senior personnel NCO and has responsibility for overseeing and ensuring the accomplishment of work performed in the areas of personnel management and administration. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Military Grades: ENLISTED ONLY SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must have experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level(GS-07) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization for a minimum of 12 months. Experience includes education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements. Serves as an advisor to the commander and staff on the brigade human resources (HR) program. Interprets policy and provides procedural guidance to the commander, staff members and individual military members. Keeps current on and ensures the implementation of new policy statements, regulations and directives. Develop guidelines and operational procedures to implement changes to policies and programs directed by higher headquarters. Researches and resolves difficult HR personnel problems and questions, including those where guidance is only partially relevant or is incomplete. Accomplishes a variety of statistical data/reports, analyzes the information, identifies trends, and makes recommendations to assist in HR management decisions. Conducts staff visits and provides training, guidance and assistance to military members at the Brigade and subordinate units. Serves as the technical expert on a variety of administrative matters (e.g. format for directives and standing operating procedures, general office procedures, filing systems, reference libraries, etc.) Education If you are using education to qualify for the position, must have master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree You must provide a copy of Official Transcripts as documentation to support your Educational claims. To receive credit for Education, you must provide documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position. This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard.
