M&T Bank Cybersecurity Awareness Lead in Buffalo, New York

The Bank sponsors individuals for TN and H-1B transfers on a case by case basis. Please note that this position is not open to anyone on an F-1 student visa including those eligible for CPT/OPT or the Stem OPT extension.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule; offering the flexibility to work remotely two days a week, while providing the opportunity for in-person collaboration at our Buffalo, NY Tech Hub.

Overview:

As the Cybersecurity Awareness Leader for M&T, you will lead the Cybersecurity Awareness program including annual training curriculum, monthly phishing campaigns, and the Cybersecurity Champions program. Reporting directly to the Deputy CISO , you will build strategic relationships with cybersecurity leadership, learning partners, and key business partners to deliver up-to-date, timely, and meaningful cybersecurity training and phishing exercises to all M&T employees. Cybersecurity is a team sport. The Cybersecurity Awareness Leader plays an essential role in ensuring all employees are aware of their role in protecting our company, clients, and communities we serve.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage the Global Cybersecurity Awareness program to ensure team members at all levels across the enterprise understand the principles of cybersecurity and their role in securing M&T for our clients, communities, and companies

  • Lead the delivery of the annual cyber training and awareness learning modules to deliver to all employees, new hires, and targeted groups such as secure coding training for application development teammates

  • Lead the development, delivery, and reporting of monthly Cybersecurity Phishing Campaigns to all employees and targeted employee groups based on threat trends related to social engineering

  • Identifies, tracks and produces key program metrics, reports and dashboards to measure the effectiveness of the phishing, training and awareness program.

  • Promotes a highly collaborative approach when working with teams to deliver effective training and awareness.

  • Passion to stay up to date on the latest cybersecurity threats, trends and technologies to continuously improve the Cybersecurity Awareness Program

  • Enhance and mature M&T Cybersecurity Champions program to foster a proactive culture of cybersecurity minded individuals and teams across the Enterprise

Education and Experience Required:

Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Business or related field and a minimum of 5 years’ internal and/or external technology and/or business experience, or in lieu of a degree, a combined minimum of 7 years’ higher education and/or work experience including a minimum of 5 years’ internal and/or external technology and/or business experience

Experience in designing and developing cybersecurity awareness or cybersecurity phishing campaign programs

Strong relationship builder to leverage the expertise and partnerships needed to execute an Enterprise wide training and awareness program; including partnership with learning and development partners

Proven experience leading Enterprise control programs at heavily regulated companies by demonstrating the thoroughness of the control program, reporting, and governance

Translates complex security requirements into adoptable concepts that employees at all levels can easily and quickly absorb.

Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills

M&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $85,104.04 - $141,840.07 Annual (USD). The successful candidate’s particular combination of knowledge, skills, and experience will inform their specific compensation.
