Custodial Authorization Coordinator

Full Time – Monday – Friday 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, No Weekends!

Rate of pay $21.00 to $23.00 hour

The McGuire Group, Absolut Care, Taconic Health Care and VestraCare is looking for a Custodial Authorization Coordinator the Custodial Authorization Coordinator will work with Insurance Companies to obtain Insurance coverage and works collaboratively with Case Managers to ensure authorizations are obtained from the insurance company.

Job Description:

• Knowledge of nursing home (SNF) billing a plus.

• Experienced or ability to problem solve and quickly learn patient account system is desired.

• Willing to train an ambitious candidate who is very organized, analytical, resourceful, self-motivated, detail oriented, and communicates well verbally and in writing.

• Good communication skills.

• Good time management with emails.

• Obtaining authorizations from insurance companies upon admission, completing DSS form 3559.

• Obtaining Authorizations for residents that convert from rehab to custodial level of care.

• Obtaining extended authorizations for residents at a custodial level of care.

• Follow up with Insurance companies to ensure authorization is obtained.

• Support the Census Team

Associates Degree or at least 1-2 years’ experience with Medical Billing preferred.
