The Assistant Manager, Product Line (Customs) delivers cross-departmental go-to-market tasks, from line plan support through product launch specifics. This position supports senior leadership pricing and margin decisions, communicates internally and externally per project, and help drive sales tool asset creation with direction from the Sr. Product Line Manager. This specific role focuses on product execution and deliverables for custom projects. The Assistant Manager, Product Line is an integral role within the Product Line Management team, which is responsible for the complete execution and go-to-market process of all program, custom, and co-branded headwear. The team has the foremost understanding of our headwear product types and systematic processes, while providing critical analytical input to ensure accurate product lines and consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

  • Executes product reviews and line adoptions by facilitating collective decision making for optimal product assortments
  • Leads project communication across departments in alignment with time and action calendars
  • Gathers supporting information for style productivity and SKU efficiency metrics
  • Works cross-functionally with Design teams and Product Operations teams to build all necessary product designs and supporting graphic deliverables for program, custom, and co-branded projects as necessary
  • Communicates regularly with Legal to review custom graphic artwork requests as needed
  • Delivers product pricing and margin recommendations in alignment with manager direction
  • Manages all aspects of custom development from conception through order entry in collaboration with sales leadership and key account buying teams
  • Consistently innovates within the department to drive clearer, more efficient results in all areas
  • Keep all sensitive matters confidential
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of licensed sports marketplace and can transform those insights into supporting commercial deliverables
  • Experience managing product development creation processes
  • Drives collaboration with cross functional teams
  • Supports the development of product assortments in accordance with analytical findings and market needs
  • Pro-actively manages change with urgency and persistence
  • Leads through clear communication, authentic style, and appropriate actions
  • Ability to speak accurately, intelligently, and persuasively to external customers
  • Represents the brand in all actions and decisions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Experience with SAP and PLM preferred

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Product Development, Management, Planning or related field preferred
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of Product Development or Product Management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Knowledge of sportswear and/or product industry preferred
  • Experience with SAP and PLM preferred

Travel Requirement

  • 0-10% domestic

The salary range for this posted position is $60,000 - $70,000 (plus bonus & benefits) and pertains to candidates located in Western New York. Actual compensation is determined by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, essential job duties and requirements, and necessary experience.
