Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Buffalo Grove, Illinois

Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes by providing technical support in the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing systems per project requirements.

Hard Skills

  • Define and implement manufacturing systems appropriate for customer applications

  • Support manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, Yield, Scrap, and Downtime

  • Establish and improve robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters

  • Identify root causes of failures in the manufacturing process independently or with other engineering stakeholders

  • Advanced troubleshooting of complex mechanical issues with high-speed automated manufacturing equipment

  • Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required

  • Understand the manufacturing process, technologies, techniques, and the product

  • Support creation and implementation of engineering change orders (ECOs)

  • Develop, implement, and take ownership of process control methodologies

  • Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements

  • Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products

  • Develop and maintain process documentation

  • Define, implement, and evaluate proposed design updates and processes

  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods

  • Create work instructions and coordinate training for facilities and production personnel

  • Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency

  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for implementation of manufacturing systems

  • Coordinate/participate in pFMEA of manufacturing processes

  • Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential

  • Knowledge of automated equipment systems and tools - robotics, vision, material handling/part feeding systems, conveyors, ultrasonic welding, foil sealing, HMI/PLC controls

  • Experience with high speed/high volume manufacturing equipment (MUST HAVE)

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Buffalo Grove, Illinois.

Work Environment

Large medical device manufacturing environment. Hands-on role with the automation equipment.
