What we want

The Program Manager plans and implements day-to-day activities for existing and newly developed interprofessional education and practice initiatives for the Texas A&M Health Office of Interprofessional Practice, Education & Research. This role develops and implements numerous small- and large- scale activities and other curricular offerings meant to engender foundational to advanced collaborative competencies among health professions learners.

What you need to know

Other Requirements and Factors: This position will be required to attend IPER events that may be schedule before or after standard work hours and/or on weekends. This position may require up to 5% or more travel.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in the social sciences, humanities, health-related studies or other related field

  • 5 years of experience in higher education, health professions education or other related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education experience in health professions education

  • Experience with learning management systems (LMS) and online design platforms such as Canva

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal, leadership, problem solving, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Maintains attention to detail and utilizes sound judgment and decision-making skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Microsoft Teams, and related word processing and spreadsheet applications

  • Knowledge of Qualtrics software

    Responsibilities:

Program Management

  • Plans, organizes, directs, and manages day-to-day activities for interprofessional education emanating from the Texas A&M Health Office of Interprofessional Practice, Education & Research.

  • Develops and implements procedures for the administration of this aspect of the overreaching program and assists with developing and implementing strategic plans and programmatic goals.

  • Assists with monitoring budget and related contracts to ensure overarching program budget in maintained.

  • Supports vertical integration of IPE curriculum.

  • Liaises/meets with internal and external stakeholders to promote excellence in program delivery and to ensure communications between partners.

  • Works with other team members to assign tasks to administrative coordinator and student workers and manage workload.

  • Engages in research, writing, and presentation preparation for internal program operations and external program dissemination.

  • Assists with other program workgroups as needed.

Student Engagement

  • Engages with students directly for operational coordination related to interprofessional activity planning.

  • Serves in an advisory capacity for certain initiatives as directed.

  • Performs other duties as assigned in support of strategic plans, goals, objectives, and initiatives. Cross trains in aspects of other unit positions to ensure nimble team workload management.
