Responsibilities

The Peer Review Coordinator RN investigates medical staff peer review issues and quality trends. Retrieves and prepares medical records for peer review and assists physicians with peer review utilizing medical staff indicator criteria. Enters data for trending and pattern analysis. Prepares and tracks correspondence related to peer review. Collects medical provider data on a continual basis for purposes of reappointment and to identify potential opportunities for improvement.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities

  1. Data Collection: Conducts quality reviews. Performs medical record reviews.

  2. Committee and Medical Staff Meetings: Assists in preparation of reports and reviews for clarity. Documents the department's conclusion, recommendation, action and follow-up.

  3. Peer Review Process: Retrieves and prepares charts for peer review, assisting physicians as necessary. Enters data for trending and pattern analysis. Prepares concerns/occurrences resulting from peer review, refers items to other medical staff, hospital department or VP, Quality and Medical Affairs. Responsible for organizing presentations to department medical staff meetings.

  4. Physician Profiling: Facilitates proctoring process. Prepares recredentialing profiles. Process premiere Midas or quality reports twice annually.

  5. Data Management: Collects data; designs studies; conducts data analysis; trends information. Documents and shares information. Participates in improvement opportunities.

  6. Risk Management: Reports patient/visitor/employee occurrences and incidents which are a potential liability to the Dir. of MSS, VPQMA and VP, Patient Services.

  7. Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.

  8. Keeps Quality files up to date.

  9. Directs provider complaints to the appropriate medical leader for review and resolution and tracks this information.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Associates Degree, Nursing

  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience in hospital setting

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN)

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to work in a quickly changing environment.

  • Some flexibility with schedule.

  • Must be tech savvy with experience utilizing Google Suites.

  • Able to multi-task.

  • Demonstrate effective communication skills with a variety of people.

Pay Range

$27.70 - $40.17 /hour
