What we want
The Assistant Director collaborates with the Director of Contracts to oversee contract administration processes for the College of Medicine; represents the college on various committees, provides guidance on policies and procedures, and ensures contract compliance with accreditation requirements; develops strategic plans, coordinates operational matters, and leads the department in the absence of the Director; special projects and report development are also key aspects of this position.

Required Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Six years of related experience in general office, accounting, or personnel operations
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in higher in business, finance or related
Related experience with TAMUS administrative systems (FAMIS, AggieBuy, Workday, Canopy, Concur, Business Objects, Maestro)
Related experience in higher education setting
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to plan and organize effectively
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to ensure understanding
Responsibilities
College of Medicine Contract Administration: Serves on management team with Director of Contracts. Represents the college of medicine on various committees. Participates in planning of the college of medicine contract administration processes. Participates in interpreting and developing contract guidelines for the college of medicine. Provides guidance to college of medicine staff and contracting parties regarding Texas A&M University System, Texas A&M University, Texas A&M Health and College of Medicine, policies, procedures, and guidelines. Resolves contract related issues and concerns. Ensures that required data on contracts is being entered into the college of medicine contract database. Reviews and summarizes contracts for college of medicine Assistant Dean for Business Services. Compiles and maintains data to ensure contract compliance with Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation requirements. Coordinates and prepares contract materials for continued institutional accreditation.
Project Management: Participates in developing departmental strategic plans based on department goals. Participates in planning, directing, and coordinating operational or procedural matters to meet finance goals and objectives. Develops, implements, coordinates, and evaluates the contracts process. Monitors compliance with all finance, University, and government standards, policies, and procedures. Develops reports, analyses, and surveys as requested by the Assistant Dean for Business Services, Executive Director or Director. Provides leadership for department along with and in absence of the Director. Handles special projects as assigned by the Director.
