CENTRAL TEXAS M H M R CENTER Program Nurse in Brownwood, Texas

POSITION: Program Nurse

Working Dept: IDD Group Home

Hours: Part time--Varied; Flexible

Salary: $28.60 to $31.26 per hour- DOEEQ

General Description:

Under the general supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the RN coordinates activities of the IDD Group Homes within our catchment area. Duties include assisting with appointment scheduling, monitoring vital signs, administering medications as instructed by Physicians, obtaining prior authorizations for medications, processing refill requests, and coordinating laboratory testing. The RN will be responsible for telephone triage of client complaints regarding sign and symptoms of their disease process and/or medication issues. The RN will also be involved in program planning, development, and interagency coordination; will serve as a member of the Centers Utilization Management Team and participate in all meetings and reviews regarding service capacity and management of Center resources to ensure cost efficiency in the provision of appropriate services for those served. Work schedule may require flexibility and the use of a Center vehicle to travel within a 7 county area.

Qualifications:

Graduate from an accredited Nursing school and a current Registered Nurse License for the State of Texas is required. Prefer a minimum of 6 month experience working in MHMR setting. Must possess expert knowledge of purpose, policies and standards of nursing care. Basic computer knowledge and good communication skills required, both verbal and written. Must have a valid Texas drivers license and driving record in compliance with CFLR policies. If selected for position, must give Center for Life Resources (CFLR) authorization to send for copy of DPS driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be able to complete all required staff development training.

The Center for Life Resources is looking for applicants who are already living in or are willing to move to the 7 county catchment area within 90 days of their hire date. Our catchment area includes the counties of Brown, Eastland, Coleman, Comanche, San Saba, Mills and McCulloch
