POSITION:MR ASSISTANT Working Unit: ICF/MR Hours:Full time - Variable; flexible (to include evenings, midnights and weekends) Salary: $11.11 per hour; differential for evenings and nights Position #s: 5102

**General Description: Performs tasks involved in planning and providing activities, therapies and training programs for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities. Involves accurately recording and communicating consumer progress and behavior. Assists the consumer with daily maintenance of home-like environment. Must possess basic knowledge of nutrition, housekeeping, meal preparation, personal hygiene and basic first aid. Position requires flexibility of schedule, and the capability to learn and adhere to ICF-MR guidelines. Position requires operating a Center vehicle to transport consumers. Position is under the supervision of the QMRP or Assistant QMRP, with some latitude for independent judgment. Working closely with consumers, position requires lifting in excess of 45 pounds, sitting, walking, bending and full range of physical and mental activities normally associated with care giving.

**Qualifications: Graduation from a standard high school or GED equivalent is required. Experience working with persons with intellectual or developmental disabilities is preferred. Good communication skills, both verbal and written, are required. A valid Texas drivers license and driving record in compliance with CFLR policies is essential. If selected for a position, employee must give Center for Life Resources (CFLR) authorization to send for copy of DPS driving record as well as all required prescreens and background checks. Must be physically able to complete all required staff development training. This position requires working evenings and weekends.
