The Finance Strategic Capabilities Unit delivers the expertise and business acumen to increase value across the enterprise by providing actionable information with recommendations and opportunities to drive sustainable business growth.

What You ll Do:

• Support an accurate and timely month-end, half-year and year-end financial statement close process:

• Prepare journal entries.

• Maintain the general ledger and reconcile account balances.

• Perform reconciliation between general ledger, project ledger and cost pools.

• Perform research to resolve issues when account balances do not reconcile.

• Prepare financial statements including balance sheets, income statements, and reports on changes in financial position.

• Use HFM to upload Space and Mission Systems monthly financials; maintain and understand mapping of GL chart of accounts between Space and Mission Systems and parent company.

• Backup other key Accounting processes (i.e. revenue recognition, month-end reporting, tax reporting, intercompany reconciliation, etc.).

• Assist in reconciling/troubleshooting month-end pool processing.

• Understand the mechanics of the SMS pool structure and make updates to pool cost and base setups as necessary to align with SMS Disclosure Statements.

• Analyze financial reports, records, and other general information as needed to support questions from other finance organizations and program teams.

• Support internal and external audits of Space and Mission System s Financial Statements and Internal Controls.

• Ensure SMS Financial Accounting practices are consistent with IFRS and BAE Systems policy, in all material respects.

• Update target, cost of money, and provisional/billing rates in the accounting system of record.

• Assist in creation, maintenance, and enforcement of accounting policies and procedures.

• Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and accountability in all work performed.

• Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

• Perform other duties as necessary.

On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site three or more days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.

Working Conditions:

• Work is performed in an office environment, laboratory, cleanroom, or production floor.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

• BS/BA in related field plus 4 or more years related experience.

• Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.

• General ledger accounting or financial accounting and reporting experience.

• Knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

• Costpoint and/or HFM experience.

• Experience in the Aerospace & Defense industry.

• CPA, CMA, or interest in pursuing an accounting certification.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $81156 - $137964

However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
