Acadia Healthcare Admissions Nurse (Specialty) in Brooksville, Florida

Description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Determine appropriateness for admission to an Acadia facility by reviewing pre-admission screenings, medical and clinical records and all other patient information.

  • Review prospective admissions against approved admission criteria, policies, and procedures.

  • Conduct nurse-to-nurse reviews with outside hospitals/facilities to determine potential patient eligibility for an Acadia facility.

  • Perform additional telephonic screenings of prospective patients to determine eligibility for admission when more information is needed.

  • Collaborate with facility medical and psychiatric personnel onsite to maintain up-to-date medical and clinical admissions criteria for screening incoming patients.

  • Support multiple facilities’ admissions functions within a given region to promptly assist clients and their family’s seeking treatment.

  • Initiate contact to gather required clinical and demographic data from patient and other sources.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Nursing

  • Minimum of one year experience working with individuals in a clinical or observational capacity, preferably in the area of specialty for the facilities within a specific region.

LICENSES/DESIGNATIONS/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training available upon hire and offered by facility).

  • First aid may be required based on state or facility.
