About the Job:

Rent the Runway’s two-sided discovery engine is a modern way for brands and retailers to reach the engaged, fashion-focused US consumer—customers are finding new brands they love, and brand partners are finding new customers they want.

We’re hiring a Sales and Partnerships Associate to support new partnership initiatives such as our in-bag sampling program, a paid opportunity for companies to include brand samples or marketing materials in RTR outbound shipments to get in the hands and homes of our core customer, and to effectively grow and maintain our sales pipeline on a go-forward basis. This role will sit within the Marketing organization, supporting our Manager of Advertising Partnerships, and will serve as the very important connection between RTR and the consumer brands with whom we partner. We’re looking for someone who has experience in sales development, lead generation, and is a pro at working cross-functionally across an organization.

What You’ll Do:

  • Identify and strategically source revenue-generating opportunities with potential partners including mass and prestige beauty brands, direct-to-consumer brands and other relevant consumer product goods companies

  • Support RTR’s in-bag sampling program and sales cycle including creating sales materials, scheduling sales calls, executing contracts, and managing campaign flights

  • Ideate internally and externally on launching new campaigns and advertising offerings that will drive incremental revenue for the business

  • After a deal is closed, manage the end-to-end execution of bringing it to life, including liaising with RTR marketing team, handling all relevant communications and owning detailed campaign logistics.

  • Build high-quality presentations and decks that effectively support strategic sales initiatives

About You:

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years prior experience in sales, business development or partnerships role - you will need to juggle multiple partnerships and projects simultaneously

  • You are a creative problem solver and have the ability to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions to overcome sales challenges, adapt to changing circumstances, and meet customer needs effectively.

  • You have a familiarity with brands - you’ve worked with external brands through partnerships or a client-facing role and understand how their priorities and budgets work

  • You are goal-oriented and thrive in a results-driven environment - you perform best when you’re given autonomy and accountability

  • You have strong interpersonal skills, as as well as the ability to work cross-functionally across internal teams

  • You are highly organized. You possess exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple sales activities, prioritize tasks effectively, and maintain meticulous records

  • You bring a positive, “get it done” attitude - scrappiness is a virtue at RTR

  • You are proficient in G Suite, Slack, and Zoom

The anticipated base salary for this position is $65,000 to $80,000. The actual base salary offered will depend on a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held.
