Tax Accounting & Reporting Manager - Americas Summary: Nilfisk Inc., a leading global provider of cleaning solutions, is seeking an experienced and results-driven Tax Accounting & Reporting Manager - Americas to join our finance team. As the Tax Accounting & Reporting Manager - Americas, you will play a critical role in overseeing all aspects of corporate tax compliance and reporting, with a specific focus on sales and corporate tax accounting. With our corporate headquarters located in Denmark, international reporting experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in US tax regulations, possess international tax knowledge, and demonstrate leadership capabilities. Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all aspects of US corporate tax compliance, including the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Ensure accurate and efficient reporting, including deferred taxes, while staying compliant with tax laws and regulations. Collaborate with international tax teams to ensure alignment with global tax strategies. Sales Tax Management: Lead all sales tax accounting and compliance efforts, including monitoring changes in sales tax laws, identifying potential impacts, and implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance. Tax Planning and Strategy: Collaborate with finance, legal, and management teams to develop effective tax strategies that optimize tax liabilities and support the company's global business objectives. Tax Audits and Controversies: Act as the main liaison with external auditors during tax audits and manage responses to tax authorities. Ensure all necessary documentation is prepared and provided for audits. Research and Interpretation: Stay up-to-date with US and international tax laws, regulations, and developments. Analyze their implications on the company's tax position and provide guidance to relevant stakeholders. Tax Provision: Oversee and review the preparation of the company's tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109) accounting standards. International Tax Reporting: Coordinate and contribute to international tax reporting requirements, including transfer pricing documentation, Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR), and other cross-border tax matters. Transfer Pricing: Assist in the development and maintenance of transfer pricing policies to ensure compliance with international regulations and arm's length principles. Risk Management: Identify and assess tax-related risks, both domestically and internationally, and implement measures to mitigate potential exposures. Process Improvement: Continuously review and optimize tax accounting processes, identifying opportunities for automation and efficiency gains. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or CPA certification is highly desirable. 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax accounting, with a strong focus on sales and corporate tax matters. Solid understanding of US tax laws and regulations, including federal, state, and local taxes. International tax experience is preferred. Experience with international tax reporting, transfer pricing, and cross-border tax compliance. Familiarity with tax planning and strategy development to optimize tax positions. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and compliance. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional and international teams.
