DESCRIPTION Incoming Quality Technician is responsible for providing guidance for the completion of First Article / PPAP inspections. Assist Engineering and quality departments in proper documentation of engineering drawing and in the measurement of complex parts. Conduct First Article / PPAP inspections. Provide technical support and analysis on quality related issues to ensure timely resolution. Work with Quality Inspection Specialist and Supplier Quality Engineer to develop, plan and implement prevention-based quality controls to facilitate continuous reduction of defects and variations. Support corrective action system to improve quality culture. Conduct audits to ensure continuous improvement and strengthen quality culture. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Performing inspection and testing activities of incoming and in-processparts, First Articles/PPAP for conformity to specifications, using various advanced measurement tools and techniques such as CMM (FARO) and dispose result Support the processing and management of non-conforming materials, including all related transactions, dispositions. Documenting, maintaining accurate records of inspections, tests and other quality related activities in ERP (LN or SAP) and other locations. Participating in inspection process improvement. Basic problem-solving skills, including identifying and analyzing quality issues, root cause analyses (using 5Why or Ishikawa) and implementing corrective actions. Drive implementation of 6S work environment. Monitor and drive data accuracy for KPIs (Supplier DPPM, Cost of Quality) Develop inspection instructions (ICI) for parts Ensure calibration and maintenance is performed on measurement equipment Familiar with quality auditing principles, Conduct internal audits by its own MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION: Technical degree or associates in related field, or ASQ Quality Technical certification (CQT) preferred. KNOWLEDGE & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: 3-5 years' experience gained in quality-related roles. Basic ERP (SAP preferred) knowledge for nonconformance recording. Proficient use of inspection tools including calipers, gages, pins,ultrasonic thickness tester,and v-blocks and CMM (FARO). Ability to investigatedefect details, analyze root-cause and implement corrective-actions. Advanced ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, including understanding of advanced GD&T principles and inspection of critical features. The Quality Technician knowledgeable in (QMS), such as ISO 9001, and the ability to apply quality standards and requirements in inspection activities. Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
