Job Description
This purpose exists to perform a variety of duties in the Central Services Department. Duties include receiving, sorting, delivering, picking up and metering mail and packages; operating the copying machines; operating other machines such as the cutter, folder, punch, binder, labeler, and collator; receiving and delivering packages and shipments; organizing warehouse and operating equipment such as the 2 and 4-wheel hand carts, forklift, and a floor pallet jack; filling supply orders: and providing clerical support services. Provides excellent customer service to campus faculty, staff, and administrators. Works collaboratively with other departments as needed. Provides training and work direction to student workers (if needed).
Minimum Qualifications
Office management practices are sufficient to establish deadlines, design workflow and assign work to student workers so that services are provided effectively and efficiently.
General clerical skills, including computer skills, are required.
Ability to be flexible and multi-task oriented.
Ability to operate copiers and large format printers.
Knowledge of mailing and shipping procedures, college rules and office procedures.
Ability to successfully complete OSHA-certified forklift training.
Ability to bend and lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
Ability to push and pull 2 and 4 wheeled handcarts and a floor pallet jack.
Microsoft 365 skills, especially Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel
Adobe Acrobat: working knowledge (combining files, adjusting for proper print orientation).
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of federal postal regulations.
Ability to operate a cutter, labeler, laminator, folder, binder, adding machine, postage machine, etc. and interpret the postage scale.
eProcurement knowledge and use (especially Jaggaer eProcurement solutions).
Detail oriented: Ability to generate invoices, monthly logs and chargebacks for print and mail costs.
Knowledge of Minnesota State procurement policies and contract procedures.
Partner with the CIO to generate contracts, as needed. The incumbent is responsible for keeping track of their timing and end dates.
OSHA certified forklift operator.
