Compensation:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level I: $65,954 - $78,079
Assistant Transit Management Analyst Level II: $76,577 - $85,288
Associate Transit Management Analyst: $86,565 - $112,083
Responsibilities:
The Department of Subways is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented candidate to join the Expense Analysis team within Operations Support, Finance. The selected candidate will monitor Subway’s $5 billion operating budget and provide timely support to operating division managers, aiding in the management of a workforce of over 29,000 employees.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop budget proposals and analytical plans for Operating and Capital funding requests.
· Monitor expenditures, ensure alignment with budget allocations, and forecast expenses.
· Review and submit hiring plans, requisition approvals, and overtime analyses.
· Create presentations to convey budget and expense data to non-financial stakeholders.
· Prepare budgets and allocate expenses to the General Ledger and Charge RC.
· Perform ad hoc tasks to meet team and organizational goals.
Education and Experience:
Assistant Transit Management Analyst I and II:
A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of satisfactory full-time professional experience in the following areas whereby:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience as described in "1" above.
Associate Transit Management Analyst:
A master's degree from an accredited college in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and two years of full-time satisfactory professional experience in the collection, evaluation and use of data relating to operational procedures, administrative systems, equipment and space utilization, and staffing requirements, including the preparation of charts, graphs, drawings and technical reports. One year of experience must have been in the transportation industry; or
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in one of the areas listed in "1" above; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above. One year of this experience must have been in the transportation industry.
Desired Skills:
Familiarity with NYCT Department of Subways
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with advanced expertise in MS Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on data analysis and creating impactful presentations.
Selection Method:
Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.
All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MABSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
