Job Description

Scope

The SCADA Project Manager is responsible for the overall planning, execution, and delivery of Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) projects. This includes managing resources, schedules, financials, and adherence to quality and control guidelines throughout the full systems development lifecycle. This role will also contribute to process improvement initiatives as it relates to improving project delivery. Must have a working knowledge of existing SCADA systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

Project Planning and Management

  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets.

  • Allocate and manage project resources effectively.

Execution and Monitoring

  • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors for the flawless execution of projects.

  • Track project milestones and deliverables ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks.

Stakeholder Management

  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.

  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders ensuring effective and regular communication.

Technical Leadership

  • Provide technical direction and guidance to the project team.

  • Ensure the SCADA system architecture is designed in a scalable and robust manner.

  • Oversee the integration of SCADA systems with other enterprise systems.

Quality Assurance

  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.

  • Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations for future projects.

  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.

  • Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager in SCADA, industrial automation, or a related field.

  • Experience with project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera, etc.).

  • Hands-on experience with SCADA systems (e.g., Wonderware, GE iFIX, Siemens, etc.).

  • Skills:

  • Strong understanding of SCADA systems and industrial automation.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices.

  • Certifications:

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification preferred.

Additional Information

  • Ability to travel as needed for project requirements.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
