The de Lázaro Lab (NanoBioEngineering for Tissue Reprogramming and Regeneration, https://www.delazarolab.com ) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Scholar to contribute to various projects on the development of new nanomedicines to tackle cardiovascular disease and other pathologies.

Expectations

As a Research Scholar, you will be responsible for the formulation, physicochemical characterization, and in vitro testing of nanomedicines to treat cardiac arrhythmia. This project is a collaboration with the laboratory of Dr Mario Delmar at NYU Langone Health ( https://med.nyu.edu/faculty/mario-delmar ) and is funded by a Pilot Project Grant from the CVRC. You will also be expected to contribute to other nanomedicine projects in the laboratory, and to participate in lab maintenance activities.

Salary range

In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual salary range for this position is $48,000 to $58,500, depending on experience. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.

Candidates should have a BS or MS in Biomedical or Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmacy, or a related field. Prior experience in nanoparticle formulation and characterization is a must. Experience in cell culture and molecular biology is advantageous but not strictly required. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and driven, creative, team-oriented, able to work efficiently in a multidisciplinary environment, and able to maintain excellent research records. They will be expected to collaborate closely with basic scientists and clinical colleagues from the Cardiovascular Research Center. Eligible candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
