Ramadi Lab for Neuroengineering and Translational Medicine

The Ramadi Lab for Neuroengineering and Translational Medicine (www.RamadiLab.com) at NYU Tandon School of Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Associate to join a young energetic lab focused on neuroengineering of the brain and enteric nervous system. The candidate will join an exciting federally-funded project developing ingestible electronic devices with a high potential for translation. Tasks will include device design, manufacturing, and preclinical model neuroscience and behavioral experiments.
Our laboratory offers multidisciplinary training with a high degree of academic freedom among various high-impact translational projects. The candidate will work in a multidisciplinary environment consisting of PhD-level scientists, graduate students and undergraduate students, ensuring the candidate learns valuable skills in writing manuscripts and grant proposals, advising fellow researchers, and establishing collaborations across disciplines.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $48,000 - $60,000

The successful candidate will be driven, creative and team-oriented with a passion for translational biomedical engineering. We are seeking individuals with a strong background in engineering, neuroscience, or a related field. Applicants must have a BS (MS preferred) in an engineering or biomedical-related discipline, experience working in a laboratory setting, and an ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team; with strong organization, communication, problem-solving and time management skills. Applicants must be willing to work with rodent models including basic handling and surgical techniques. Excellent experimental and engineering skills relevant to the project (in particular design and fabrication) are strongly preferred. Exceptional candidates willing to learn in vivo experiment techniques will also be accepted. High proficiency in English is required. Eligible candidates will be required to present eligibility to work in the United States.
