Description

Are you a passionate and experienced Registered Nurse ready to take on a leadership role? We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Registered Nurse Supervisor to lead our dedicated team of RNs within the care team model. As a pivotal member of our clinical leadership team, you will oversee and support our nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care. You will work closely with medical and behavioral health providers, offering clinical guidance and support across our programs, including Triage, Flexcare, and various grant-funded initiatives.

In this role, you will be responsible for supervising the day-to-day nursing operations, conducting performance evaluations, and contributing to the continuous improvement of patient care processes. Your commitment to professional excellence and ethical standards, including adherence to HIPAA privacy rules, will set the tone for your team, making you a role model for nursing staff at Callen-Lorde.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Supervision:Oversee the activities of Registered Nurses, including performance evaluations, clinical competencies, and corrective action plans.

  • Clinical Operations:Participate in daily clinical operations meetings, collaborate with site nursing administrators, and ensure optimal functioning of the care team model.

  • Training & Development:Provide ongoing training and mentorship for Registered Nurses, fostering a culture of professional development and clinical excellence.

  • Program Support:Assist with grant-funded programs, including assessments, patient education, and group education programming.

  • Quality Improvement:Monitor RN documentation, patient education, triage processes, and Quality Improvement activities to maintain high standards of care.

  • Administrative Duties:Coordinate daily RN assignments, manage scheduling, and ensure appropriate staffing coverage, including handling PTO requests and approvals.

  • Patient Care:Provide clinical support, including patient assessments, medication administration, and triage, ensuring consistent and high-quality nursing care.

Qualifications

  • New York State RN License and Registration

  • Bachelors of Science Nursing Degree

  • 1+ years of prior supervisory experience in any setting preferred, or prior charge nurse experience preferred

  • Two years’ experience in an out-patient clinical setting preferred

  • Experience working within a care team model

  • Experience providing education to patients and nurses

  • Experience serving Callen-Lorde’s target populations and ability to work effectively with diverse populations

  • Current BCLS certification

  • Experience with auditing patient medical records.

  • Strong Computer Competency
