Reports To: Clinical Director of Operations
Job Summary: The Mobile Medical Assistant will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of POD Health’s pop-up clinics and providing direct support to Nurse Practitioners (NPs) and other providers. This role involves traveling across the five boroughs of New York, Westchester, and other designated locations to assist with wellness checks, flu, and other vaccinations, as well as employee physicals and screenings. The Medical Assistant will also fulfill key clerical and patient care responsibilities, including registering patients, taking vital signs, assisting with specimen collection, and maintaining an organized clinical environment. This position requires a proactive, compassionate individual who excels in patient interactions and works effectively in mobile and dynamic healthcare settings.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Compensation: Includes travel reimbursement and an additional $5 per hour salary differential.
Travel Requirement: Up to 3 days of travel per week to various True Care offices across the five boroughs, Westchester, and other designated locations.

Key Responsibilities:
Travel to various True Care offices across the five boroughs of New York, Westchester, and other designated locations, providing support for employee physicals, screenings, wellness checks, flu, and other vaccinations.
Assist in the setup and smooth operation of pop-up wellness clinics.
Greet and register patients.
Fulfill clerical responsibilities, including verifying insurance eligibility, obtaining diagnostic reports, updating patient demographics, and ensuring all incoming/outgoing referrals are booked and addressed accordingly.
Answer phones, respond to inquiries, and triage calls to the appropriate personnel.
Check all incoming faxes and distribute accordingly.
Make courtesy calls and appointment confirmations and referrals for POD, True Care or for office/Urgent Care patients.
Reschedule no-show appointments and input patient data into the EMR system.
Fulfill patient care responsibilities, including taking vital signs, updating patient history, collecting blood, urine, and stool specimens, and assisting providers/Nurse Practitioners (NPs) in the exam room.
Assist and support Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or other providers in patient care, exams, and procedures as needed.
Be responsible for learning the use of all current and future equipment used for patient assessment and diagnosing.
Check expiration dates on materials and medications, discarding expired items.
Complete weekly and monthly inventory for all supplies, medical and office.
Requirements:
Active driver's license and the ability to travel across the five boroughs of New York, Westchester, and other designated locations as needed.
Bilingual – English, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Spanish (preferred).
Certification from a recognized Medical Assistant program.
High School Diploma or GED.
2-3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
Proficiency in using EMR systems (experience in AdvancedMD is a plus).
Strong organizational skills to manage patient records and appointment scheduling.
Excellent interpersonal skills for patient and healthcare team interactions.
Exceptional customer service skills to provide empathetic and supportive patient interactions.
