Pratt Institute Event Producer, Climate Justice (71101) in BROOKLYN, New York

Write, advertise, and manage the open call for the project's annual residency program. Plan, coordinate, and implement an annual 30-person creative residency program for scientists, artists, and youth. Facilitate and oversee the logistical elements of the full-scale fabrication of the artists' works produced in the residency program. Plan and oversee the public exhibits of these works, as part of a public festival that you will help determine. Liaise with the project partners and residency participants and staff, Pratt administrative staff and graduate students, and teaching artists on planning, coordination, and production of the events. Required: A minimum of three years event production and/or project management experience. Significant professional experience and/or a degree working in Climate Science, Climate Justice, STEM or STEAM. Experience managing budgets, logistics and a team of freelance support staff. Experience working with scientists, creative professionals and event contributors. Content development experience in events or exhibitions. Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work as part of a small team. Maker experience in engineering, electronic arts, product design, industrial design or a similar field. Strong interest in the intersection of science with live events or the creative arts. Ability to write press release copy, social media copy, blog posts, and briefings for the press, partners and our website. Experience planning, managing and executing on marketing campaigns. Experience working with designers to produce marketing and event materials. A well developed network of contacts in music and art festivals, live events, or marketing sectors.
