Job Brief
The Director of Social Services is responsible for the daily oversight of case management and social services delivered to Sanctuary NYC clients receiving residential supports while seeking asylum in the United States.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provide day-to-day supervision to case management, care coordination, and other supportive human services delivered to clients residing at the site.
Assist with the development, interpretation, and implementation of the policies and procedures for all staff.
In support of the Program Director (PD), ensure client documentation and records are generated and stored in accordance with all CPU, NYCDHS, and other relevant regulatory standards.
In support of the Program Director (PD), ensure a safe and positive program environment at all times, providing additional oversight, as needed, to any investigations required and ensuring all client incidents, concerns and grievances are responded to and reported appropriately.
Participate in continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities and any other agency-wide practices designed to promote desired client outcomes.
In the delivery of the program’s social services, plan with other agencies and develop methods of inter-agency collaboration inclusive of other human services providers, legal services providers, child welfare agencies, government agencies, and other entities that may play a significant role in families’ acclimation to life in NYC and the United States.
Support the accurate reporting to regulatory agencies and internal sources in accordance with regulations and indicated timeframes.
At the direction of the PD, maintain statistical data to allow for efficient reporting including weekly census, monthly reports, CARES reports, etc.
Responds to site safety concerns and requirements, as appropriate, escalating to the PD as necessary.
Ensures social services are delivered in compliance with all CPU and NYCDHS requirements.
At the PD’s request, prepares reports and program updates regarding targeted client populations for CPU and regulatory agency review
Supports on-going training of staff to ensure compliance with program polices, standards, and approaches.
Maintains compliance with HIPAA and any other laws, regulations, and polices governing client privacy and confidentiality.
Ensures adequate social services staff coverage for all shifts.
Promotes good community relations through involvement in community affairs and establishment of community outreach programs.
Represents CPU at any relevant off-site meetings and events as required.
Pursues professional development opportunities as appropriate.
Maintains a high level of industry knowledge and keep CPU abreast of changes required/recommended in the agency operations.
Responsible for all aspects of shelter operations in the absence of the PD.
All other duties as assigned by the PD.
ADDITIONAL TASKS/RESPONSIBILITES:
Maintain a Positive Image of the Organization in the Community the Organization Services and in State and National Organizations.
Assist the Director in promoting good community relations through involvement in community affairs and establishment of community outreach programs.
Participate in Job Training and Education Programs, Meetings and Committees.
Attend mandatory in-service annually.
Chair and participate in various committees and meetings as requested.
Attend seminars to further professional development.
Maintain a high level of industry knowledge and keep the Agency aware of changes
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Master's Degree
License Required (i.e. LMSW, LCSW, Licensed Mental Counselor, Licensed Family Therapist)
Minimum five years’ experience in supervision or management
Minimum three years’ experience in a residential agency or DHS licensed facility.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to interact effectively with all populations served.
Ability to speak, read and write the English language. Preferred Bilingual
Knowledge of the principles and methods of quality management
Experience and knowledge of Windows computers systems and programs
