Director of Finance and Administration (Administrative Officer)
POSITION DETAILS
Brooklyn College of the City University of New York (CUNY) seeks a Director of Finance and Administration. Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Finance and Administration (SVPFA), the Director is responsible for overseeing the campus strategic priorities of the Brooklyn College Plan. This position will provide operations support to the Finance and Administration Division, ensuring that the Division has efficient and compliant business processes, service activities, reporting tools and data for the Division. Additionally, the Director is tasked with tracking resource allocations and deliverables to ensure effective management of the portfolio's resources.
In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, the Director’s duties include but are not limited to the following:
Collaborate with the SVPFA in executing comprehensive strategic and operational initiatives to drive the organization's financial and administrative goals. Evaluate outcomes and make recommendations regarding resources.
Oversee administrative support team to enhance coordination, collaboration, and cooperation with other Division departments and the campus community.
Oversee timely and accurate processing of appointments, timesheet reports, overtime requests, CUNYBuy payment requests, and credit card transactions.
Provide oversight to full-time and part-time administrative staff to ensure clearly defined roles and promote a culture of professionalism and accountability.
Collaborate with the SVPFA and senior managers to develop budgets that strategically allocate resources in alignment with the College’s priorities.
Ensure all work requests are captured within the Archibus Work Request System. This tracking system allows departments to follow up on tasks and make informed decisions for strategic resource allocation.
Create and implement a comprehensive communication plan for providing regular updates and reports to the SVPFA on all emergency situations, health and safety matters, and prioritized tasks.
Facilitate effective communication with managers and campus end-users to promote seamless information sharing and foster collaborative problem-solving across the campus.
Develop training materials tailored to specific areas across the Division, designed to improve communications and service levels.

Serve as a liaison between the SVPFA and internal and external stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and eight years' relevant experience required.
Master’s Degree in facilities planning, business or higher education administration preferred.
Experience in strategic planning.
Ability to work effectively with a diverse range of people to deliver collaborative results.
Exceptional communications skills.
Exceptional analytical skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.
CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW
As a senior staff member in a large academic or administrative department, division, or school, manages operations and administration, participates in planning and setting priorities, and oversees related projects to ensure their success.
Works with management to create short- and long-term business plans, including operational, organization, and financial aspects.
Works with management and others to develop and implement operating policies and procedures.
Manages the ongoing financial, operational, and staffing activities of the department.
Manages operating budget and performs analysis and reporting to support decision-making.
Oversees legal, safety, fiscal, and other compliance requirements.
Oversees facilities, technology, and materials utilized in the department, coordinating with appropriate Campus services.
Works with other Campus or University units to coordinate and plan fund-raising, grants, marketing, communications, and outreach activities.
Independently carries out a portfolio of responsibilities under the department's purview, such as managing committees, securing approvals, and providing communications.
Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
$119,995 - $141,858; Salary commensurate with education and experience.
