Compensation: $87,951 - $124,834 (Grade E, 588 Hay Points)
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for the development and implementation of strategies, goals, objectives, policies and procedures for NYCT Deployable Camera Program and Video Retrieval Unit in the Vulnerability Mitigation and New Technologies Division of the Department of Security. It is responsible for the daily operations for retrieving video from buses, subway stations and subway rail cars. It is also responsible for the indexing, storage and forwarding of video when required; ensures timely processing of CCTV video requests and retrieval of video, on rolling stock and at facilities throughout New York City. It collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, and law enforcement agencies to assess security vulnerabilities and implement effective countermeasures. It coordinates with internal and external partners to ensure video is provided to MTA executives and law enforcement expeditiously, regarding high profile, newsworthy incidents, and events. The position is also responsible for overseeing research, evaluation and vetting of emerging wireless CCTV technologies and assessing feasibility for deployment at NYCT in collaboration with MTA Security.
Education and Experience:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university in Public Administration, Finance, System Analysis or a closely related field and eight (8) years of full-time, paid, related experience, and at least four (4) years of which must have been in a managerial/supervisory/administrative capacity; or
A satisfactory equivalent of education and/or experience.
DESIRED SKILLS:
Experience with intrusion detection and digital CCTV systems, preferably wireless cameras, and video recording equipment.
Experience in Security, performing vulnerability assessments, and wireless security technologies.
Experience in high-pressure, fast-moving operations.
Ability to analyze problems and develop creative solutions through independent decision-making.
Excellent customer relations and teambuilding skills.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
Knowledge of NYC Transit’s rules, regulations, and operating procedures.
