Compensation
Salary Range: Min. $109,876 – Max. $155,953 (Grade B – 805 Hay Points)
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for reporting to the Assistant Chief Facilities Officer, Buses, the director performs the crucial role of ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of our sustainable alternative fueling facilities systems, adhering strictly to technical and regulatory standards. The director is responsible for directing, auditing, troubleshooting, and comprehensive oversight of all facets of alternative fueling facilities systems, encompassing maintenance, storage, and the intricate design and construction of specialized facilities and infrastructure. The director is the primary liaison for cost-saving initiatives, facilitating incentives for the utilization of alternative fuels and oversight of the current Automated Fuel & Fluids Management system and inventory reconciliation process for all fluids utilized in buses. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is paramount for the formulation of proactive strategies aimed at mitigating operational costs. Coordinate and directly engage with internal and external stakeholders such as Office of System Safety (OSS), Chief Maintenance Officer (CMO), Construction and Development (C&D), Department of Subways, IT, Procurement, Bus Technology, FDNY, Con Edison, and National Grid to manage and address impacts on alternative fueling facilities operations.
Education and Experience
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Science, Engineering and eight (8) years of full-time related professional experience and at least four (4) years of which must have been in supervisory/managerial capacity: or

Preferred
- PE - Professional Engineer License
Desired Skills
Extensive knowledge and experience with equipment, infrastructure, and regulatory requirements governing alternative fuels, especially CNG, as well as government initiatives for utilizing alternate fuels.
Knowledge and experience with Department of Buses depot operations, including maintenance, transportation, and facilities.
Knowledge of NYCT contracts/ procurement processes.
Knowledge of applicable union agreements.
