COMPENSATION

Salary Range: $135,728 - $192,646 / 1192 Hay Points

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Subways is seeking a dynamic, motivated leader to join the Car Equipment team as the Assistant Chief Mechanical Officer, Operations . Reporting directly to the Vice President and Chief Mechanical Officer, this position is responsible for directing and controlling all activities related to the management of the division’s maintenance and overhaul shops to meet operating requirements. The 24/7 position will direct the Division’s maintenance/inspection/repair/overhaul on the fleets, providing safe, clean and reliable cars for daily passenger service. The ACMO will direct the development of the division’s operating budgets and monitor productivity. Directs all critical response activities of onsite personnel and equipment during emergencies and major service disruptions maximizing passenger safety and on-time performance while minimizing service disruptions.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE :

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in Transportation Management, Public Administration or a satisfactory equivalent

AND

Twelve ( 12 ) years of experience in a rapid transit or related industry, nine (9) of which must have been in a managerial capacity

OR

A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Thorough knowledge of NYCT and Department of Subways policies and procedures

  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking skills

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

  • Extensive experience with NYCT subway car overhaul/maintenance.
