Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic I FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt - Hourly Job Code: 507011 Employee Class: Hourly Department: Maintenance Reports to: Plant Manager General Summary The Maintenance Mechanic I is responsible for performing basic preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of CNC and robotic machinery, general equipment, and hand tools as well as facility equipment and tools. Assists Operations with building, installing, and maintaining tooling and fixtures and general facilities upkeep and repairs. Works under immediate supervision; relies on specific direction and instructions to plan and prioritize work. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Performs regular, preventative maintenance on all CNC and robotic machinery, equipment, tools, and building. Assists in repair of all machinery, infeed/outfeed systems, hand tools and forklifts in accordance with diagrams, operating manuals, and manufacturer specifications. Troubleshoot hydraulics, electronics and software, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems. Orders supplies and parts as required. Work based on a sense of urgency with machine down conditions. Performs preventive maintenance as scheduled. Maintains records of repair and maintenance activities. Performs duties consistent with established safety rules and procedures. Maintains work area clean and organized. Supports UFP Regional Engineers with all assigned action items in relation to plant layouts and other equipment acquisitions. Participates in safety, CI and other programs and meetings. Prepares various reports as required. Performs other duties as required. Job Specifications Knowledge High school diploma required. Minimum 3 years of experience in machine repair in maintenance, powder coating systems and CNC machinery a plus. Demonstrated knowledge of industrial mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and control technology, and welding. Working knowledge of safe equipment practices and applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Skills and abilities Ability to understand and use basic math and numbers, and to use a computer terminal and a calculator. Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions. Demonstrates ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and operating manuals. Demonstrates ability to use precision measuring instruments or tools, and to use manual tools. Ability to understand verbal and written instructions in English; ability read and write English. Ability to identify safety issues in their work area, Ability to work under immediate supervision, Ability to pass a drug test. Ability to work hours mandated by management.
