JOB REQUIREMENTS: SUMMARY OF POSITION: Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, provide clerical and technical support to aide in the processing of Customer orders. This is accomplished by following publishes process guidelines and standard Engineering Design Guidelines. PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBLITIES: Originate process methods, routings etc. required in the manufacture of cutting tools. Work from existing tool prints to maintain and update engineering systems with change orders requests from engineer, manufacturing or sales. Layout a tool from a finished part print and maintain required records and files pertinent to this job function. Finish a basic single diameter tool design. Recommend speeds and feeds to customers and trouble shoot base application problems. Perform repeat orders. Work with engineers, assist in the development of standard routings of basic tool type and assist in maintaining established methods and time data to conform to changing conditions. Occasionally prepare prices for Guhring products of intermediate to complex nature or do repeat orders of a basic to intermediate nature. Provide form sketches for customer approval if a print does not exist. EDUCATION: Associate degree or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in metal working or machine trades. A bachelor\'s degree in mechanical engineering or industrial engineering preferred. SKILLS/EXPERIENCE: Experience with AutoCAD. Basic understanding of machine spindle adaptation and tool holding. Thorough knowledge of latest developments in machining methods, manufacturing equipment, machining techniques and materials. Basic blueprint reading skills and working knowledge of math is preferred Proficiency with MS office including excel Strong analytical, problem solving, leadership and ability to communicate with complex matters.
