Robert Half Accounts Payable Specialist in Brookfield, Wisconsin
Description We are in search of a committed Accounts Payable Specialist to be a part of our team located in Brookfield, Wisconsin. This role provides a short-term contract employment opportunity in the legal services industry, where you will be primarily tasked with handling AP processing tasks. This position will operate in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities
• Efficiently manage the Accounts Payable inbox, ensuring all payments are logged in QuickBooks
• Handle weekly check runs including 50-60 manual payments and Automated Clearing House (ACH) transactions
• Oversee the integration of expenses using Concur with ADP for payroll purposes
• Ensure proper documentation of AP processes including manuals, screenshots, and vendor cheat sheets
• Take charge of backlog cleanup and SOP development
• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and detail-oriented manner
• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions based on account status
• Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
• Maintain and update customer credit records to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date
• Work closely with the CFO and report on AP processes and issues. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficiency in Account Coding and Coding Invoices
• Strong experience with Accounting Software Systems such as QuickBooks
• Familiarity with the Automated Clearing House (ACH) system
• Well-versed in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures
• Ability to use Microsoft Excel for financial tasks and reporting
• Experience with Concur expense management software
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to spot numerical errors
• Strong communication skills to handle vendor inquiries and maintain relationships
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines
• High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred
