Description

Summary

The Research Assistant II will provide administrative and protocol-specific support for a multi­year funded project investigating care for patients with a diagnosis of seizure or epilepsy in Primary Care. The Research Assistant II will also provide some related additional ad-hoc support to the work of the Research Department.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Perform relevant qualitative and quantitative data collection, including conducting one-on-one interviews, focus groups, observation, administering questionnaires;

  • Conduct literature reviews;

  • Oversee and manage data entry, storage and security, including paper and electronic files;

  • Provide data/performance monitoring assistance and training to partners, as needed;

  • Assist with writing Research Committee documents/internal communications and Institutional Review Board (IRB) proposals;

  • Assist with writing research reports and manuscripts;

  • Provide general research and administrative support to the Institutes funded seizure grant, to include: executing supply orders, scheduling meetings and managing meeting space; and

  • Perform other administrative duties as deemed necessary and/or appropriate by direct supervisor, and other members of the Research department

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated interest in research and research methods

  • Outstanding attention to detail, organizational skills, and good follow through skills;

  • Good interpersonal skills and able to work well in a team;

  • Ability to make informed and timely decisions, and use sound judgment to prioritize actions;

  • Able to work independently and juggle several projects at once with a spirit of flexibility and a positive outlook;

  • Occasional flexibility in schedule, when required by project; including willingness and ability to travel to various organizational sites;

    EDUCATION

  • Required:High school diploma plus 4 to 6 years related work experience

  • Preferred:Bachelors degree plus 2 year work/internship experience, Masters degree in related field a plus.

  • Required:Previous clinical research experience and experience working with diverse populations

  • Preferred:Experience writing research reports and manuscripts and experience providing administrative support

  • Proficiency in Microsoft software (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)

  • Proficiency in SPSS/SAS Analytics Software

  • Basic knowledge of Endnote
