Job Description Summary

This is a Night position.

The Team Leader will exhibit exemplary BD Core Values and is responsible for coordinating training for production associates. Leads operation of a set of manufacturing lines and/or offline operations. Drives engagement in Safety, Daily Team Maintenance (DTM), and 5S while maintaining and improving targeted production standards in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to:

  • Leads hourly Associates to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and People goals on the lines assigned.

  • Addresses any safety incidents, near misses, hazards, or opportunities for improvement through escalation and the Safety Reporting process.

  • Participates in Quality Notification (QN) and Quality Defect Investigation (QDI) processes, ensuring timely root cause investigation and product containment occurs.

  • Drives OEE performance through identifying and addressing speed losses throughout the shift and escalating OEE improvement opportunities requiring engineering or other support.

  • Encourages good workplace behavior by Associates through modeling compliance to policies and procedures and working with the supervisor on confronting issues.

  • Knows and observes all Quality and GMP standards.

  • Coordinates staffing assignments to ensure excellent execution of changeovers, line clearance, preventive maintenance and cleaning activities, and BD Production System (BDPS) engagement.

  • Possesses working knowledge of current production reporting system and how it applies to all positions.

  • Performs preventative maintenance on equipment as assigned including semi-annual maintenance.

  • Maintains and handles inventory as necessary.

  • Actively participates in Continuous Improvement activities including BDPS.

  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned including serving as an Acting Supervisor when needed.

  • Other duties as assigned to support plant operations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 18 years of age

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

  • 2 years minimum of manufacturing experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Experience in manufacturing

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software and software used in production.

  • Knowledge of equipment, policies, processes, and protocols used in the Broken Bow plant.

  • Ability to operate a fork truck, pallet truck, small hand tools, electronics, etc.
